Black Stars Budget Review Saves Sports Ministry GH₵700,000 – Kofi Adams
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that it has saved approximately GH₵700,000 following a review and reduction of the budget allocated to the Black Stars for two recent matches.
According to Minister Kofi Adams, the decision to cut the budget was part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure prudent spending and strengthen financial management in the national sports sector. He revealed that previous allocations for similar matches often exceeded GH₵1.5 million, making the review a necessary measure to optimise resources.
Adams explained that the ministry worked closely with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to rationalise costs, streamline expenditures, and make sure public funds were used effectively. The savings are now being redirected to other priority areas within the sports ministry.
The minister emphasised that such measures are essential for promoting financial discipline while maintaining support for the country’s national teams
