No Room for Misuse or Indiscipline in Police Service – Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has issued a firm warning to the Ghana Police Service, stating that his administration will not condone the misuse of state resources, wasteful practices, or indiscipline within the Service.

He gave the caution during a brief ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, where the government presented 100 pickup vehicles to the Police to strengthen their operational capacity. According to the President, public resources invested in security agencies must be used efficiently and for their intended purposes.

President Mahama stressed that while his government is committed to equipping the Police Service to effectively combat crime and maintain public order, such support comes with the expectation of professionalism, accountability, and discipline.

“We will not tolerate misuse, waste or indiscipline,” he stated, adding that the conduct of officers must reflect the trust placed in them by the Ghanaian people.

The President further noted that enhancing national security goes beyond the provision of logistics, emphasising the importance of ethical behaviour and responsible use of state assets. He said every resource allocated to the security services must translate into improved safety and confidence among citizens.

President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to protect public funds and ensure that investments in security yield tangible benefits for the country.
