Veteran highlife musician Kwabena Owusu, popularly known as Aseibu Amanfi, has passed away, throwing Ghana’s music industry into mourning.
According to reports, the renowned highlife singer died in the early hours of Sunday, December 28, 2025, after a short illness.
Aseibu Amanfi was widely celebrated for his dedication to highlife music and his role in preserving Ghana’s rich musical culture. His career spanned several decades, during which he produced timeless songs that resonated with audiences across generations.
Some of his most popular songs include “Kakra Bɛka Wo,” “Bamaso,” and “Asoko,” among others. These hits cemented his place as one of the respected voices in Ghana’s highlife music scene.
