Broadcast journalist Godwin Asediba has announced his departure from Media General, bringing to a close a three-year chapter of his professional journey with the media conglomerate.
In a statement released on Friday, December 26, 2025, Mr Asediba said the decision followed “thoughtful reflection,” describing his time at Media General as a profoundly rewarding and defining period in his career. He served as an investigative journalist, producer and news anchor with the group’s platforms, including TV3, 3FM and 3News.com.
According to him, Media General provided a platform that enabled him to grow, learn and find his voice as a journalist and storyteller. He expressed deep gratitude for the trust reposed in him, the opportunities to tell meaningful stories and the exposure to a fast-paced, purpose-driven newsroom environment.
Mr Asediba paid tribute to the management, editors, producers and colleagues he worked with, acknowledging their guidance, support and belief in his work. He noted that working alongside professionals committed to truth, impact and public service was both a privilege and an education.
He added that the lessons gained in the field, in the newsroom and behind the scenes have strengthened his craft and deepened his sense of responsibility as a journalist.
“As this chapter draws to a close, I do so with nothing but appreciation and respect for Media General and everyone who played a role in my journey,” he said, adding that the memories, experiences and relationships built will remain a lasting part of his story.
Mr Asediba said he is stepping into the next phase of his career with gratitude for the past and optimism for what lies ahead.
