The official salary and wage payment schedule for the public sector workers in 2026

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced the official salary and wage payment schedule for public sector workers for the year 2026.
According to a notice issued on December 29, 2025, salaries of civil servants, employees of the Ghana Education Service (GES), and staff of other public services paid through the CAGD will be credited on specific dates each month.
The schedule indicates that workers will receive their January salaries on January 23, while payments for February, March, April, and May will be made on the 26th of each respective month. June salaries are expected to be paid on June 25.
For the second half of the year, salaries for July, August, September, October, November, and December will largely be paid between the 25th and 26th of each month, with December payments scheduled for December 25.
The department emphasised that banks will begin crediting employees’ accounts on the stated dates and assured workers that any changes to the payment schedule will be communicated promptly.
The notice was signed by the Controller and Accountant-General, Kwasi Agyei, and distributed to all chief directors, regional and district officers, and banks nationwide.
